
It is my hope
that I can help pave the way for other writers grappling with similarly multifaceted truths—

and that through the effort of seeking
the liberation of my voice in the kinds of spaces that will help nurture it into being,—

I might inspire similarly self-liberatory acts

from all those in my orbit who are still wondering
if their stories are important enough to be told.

She is the former editor & storyteller of Milkweed Editions, and the current senior editor of prose at Seventh Wave; she received a BA in Creative Writing from Sarah Lawrence College, and an MFA in Fiction and Nonfiction from The New School. Her words have appeared in Midnight & Indigo, Seventh Wave, Guernica, and elsewhere. She currently lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with her three hairless cats and more books and houseplants than she can count.
